Question 5 by Rosy Banda-Rodriguez
On page 95, what was the significance of Marine's dream?
I believe Marine's dream was foreshadowing the end of the story. " She used to dream, she told me one of the first times we got together after that day in the garage, that her cello was a boat on which she was rowing away from her family." is the quote from the story by Solnit showing Marines' dream. This dream can also be depicted as music being her escape from her crippled family, as her home environment lacks stability. The verb "rowing" in the quote is thought to have a lot of importance, as it implies the effort on Marines' part to get away from her family. The dream also can be a symbol for hope, showing her internal desires. The dream can also signify the importance of music to Marine. She wants the be consumed by music, as her boat sets sail, her music career takes of. The dream is a symbol for a search of something better in the ocean full of possibilities.

The MOON
The Moon
The reflection of the sun, yet still serves wonders to the people that gaze upon it. The moon at night is a signal for the day to come to an end, i look at it and it gives me peace. It is full of light as it tries to brighten the livings night. Looking at the moon creates this moment of serenity, in which the individual is one with the night, and away from the selfish thoughts that consume us everyday. It allows us to be a part of something that is bigger than us, and makes me realize how little we really are. I admire the moon because it carries the nights burden, and asks nothing in return.

Words i never said Lupe Fiasco
[Lupe Fiasco - Verse 3]
I think that all the silence is worse than all the violence
Fear is such a weak emotion that's why I despise it
We scared of almost everything, afraid to even tell the truth
So scared of what you think of me, I’m scared of even telling you
Sometimes I’m like the only person I feel safe to tell it to
I’m locked inside a cell in me, I know that there’s a jail in you
Consider this your bailing out, so take a breath, inhale a few
My screams is finally getting free, my thoughts is finally yelling through
I think this song is an example of poetry because it uses many symbols. like the jail within a person in which his/her inner thoughts are trapped. The song also portrays a message of emotions being bottled up.
